The rapper Jay-Z recently declared to the press that the Billboard music charts are irrelevant to him. The motive that the artist invoked was the company’s inability of keeping up with the ‘changing times’.

Jay-Z has released his latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, on July 4. The album has been a major success, going platinum almost immediately. Nevertheless, MCHG failed to hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

The Samsung Company was involved in the album sale, too. The firm purchased the copies in bulk for $5 each and then distributed Magna Carta Holy Grail to their customers via a phone application before it hit stores.
