X Factor Jahmene Douglas – “Greatest Love Of All”
Jahmene Douglas first appeared on The X Factor last year and although he seemed quiet and shy his beautiful, strong voice stood proof of who he really was.
“I know I seem shy, but singing was my therapy, my outlet, my release. It was how I could be just me. First of all it would be singing to Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley. Just singing at the top of my voice. It's a way of zoning out and making you strong. The singing became my sanctuary when I was growing up”.
His debut album will be available on July 22nd this year and it is called “Love Never Fails”. At the same time, he will release his single, “Titanium”.
This record is a collection of songs strongly influenced by Jahmene’s favorite artists, especially Whitney Houston: “Her interpretation was always incredible. She knew when to make it big. She knew when to make it small. I also love Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross.”
But Jahmene also pours his heart and soul into these special musical products, thus making them his own.
Nicole Scherzinger, Jahmene’s X Factor mentor, appears on his debut album with “The Greatest Love Of All”. This is the song they performed together during the final. “Nicole knew this would be one of my favourite songs, and when she sang it with me on the final it was like singing with my big sister. She's so incredibly talented. This song and Nicole ooze class.”
