Listen: B.o.B and O.A.R. feature in new song Champions for 2012 Olympic Games
American rapper B.o.B and rock band O.A.R. debuted the music clip accompanied to their Olympic Games Song titled Champions, which is inspired by the rigorous training and determination of USA team's athletes. The new song is part of Duracell's "Rely On Cooper To Go For The Gold" program in support of the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Games. At the same time, the song can be downloaded at Duracell's Facebook page for free.
"I think the song is very synonymous with challenges that many people face in life even beyond the field, beyond the court and beyond the sports," B.o.B told Yahoo! Music Canada. "It's the same place you have to dig from and challenge from when you're an athlete or at an Olympian level. This is the best the world has to offer."
O.A.R. had been working on the song for a year when they were contacted to craft an anthem for the Games. They thought the unfinished song was a perfect fit, so they immediately revisited it and then asked B.o.B to be on it. "This is an artist that is not just a rapper, not just a musician, not just a singer or songwriter, he's done it all," gushed singer Marc Roberge. "This record, sonically, was intended to sound regal, like something that kinda encompasses the Olympics," he continued. "When you look out along the field, you imagine trumpeters and drums pounding like the opening of the Olympics and that's what we went for."
