Barbra Streisand to perform at 2013 Oscars for first time in 36 years
Barbra Streisand was invited to the lineup of musical guests to perform at the Academy Awards for the second time after singing "A Star Is Born" theme song on March 28, 1977. Norah Jones and Adele were also scheduled to perform.
Oscars' producers confirmed Barbra's appearance at the great event. "In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance on this year's Oscars, her first time singing on the show in 36 years."
Barbra Streisand won her first Oscar for Best Actress in "Funny Girl" movie (1968) and was nominated for the lead performance in "The Way We Were," for the Best Picture in "The Prince of Tides" (1991) which she also directed, and for co-writing the 1996 original song "I Finally Found Someone".
