What's wrong with 2 Chainz, Young Dolph and Cap 1 on Trap House Stalkin
What's wrong with 2 Chainz? What's wrong with rap these days? Lemme give you a lil heads up on this new song called 'Trap House Stalkin' before I get into the boring stuff. It's gonna be on 'TRU Jack City', ya know, that mixtape that's about to drop: TRU -> The Real University. Atlanta rappers on board, ya got Young Dolph, Travis Porter, Bankroll Fresh, Cap 1, Skooly, Longway, Fresh (Short Dogg), and so on. Produced by Drew Drucker & Ricky P.
Now, why has rap got to this? Has anyone asked themselves why rap has morphed into this boasting game, where everybody brags about their cars and women, where everybody says they've got everybody else's woman? I with go with psychology on this one, and say that it's resent. Yeah, you heard me, resent. Some psychologist figure that great historical movements thrived on resent: the Roman lower class invented Christianity as a resentful reaction to the higher class's debauchery (Freud), the Lumpenproletariat resented the rich, so they rose and created anarchy in the Revolution of 1917 (Marx, Engels), the so called intelligentsia of the middle ages that rebelled against the clerical domination (Descartes, Voltaire, Rousseau and so on) were, with some exception, peasants. You can see the pattern here, lower classes, minorities, are rising against the dominate class. This is all, so I can get you into philosophy, the margin's fight for the central position (Hegel), knecht vs. herr, master versus servant.
Black minority uses this resent mechanism to rise against their once upon a time suppressors. 'We're rich, we're independent, we don't need anything anymore', is what I hear them yellin'. This is the movement. This is rap. Some of it, at least...
