1993 - After playing in various bands together for three years, Larry Davis and Duane White determine to get serious about their music. The first chapter of Gnashing of Teeth begins under the name "Enslaved." After finding a vocalist, the next three years saw many changes in the guitarist and bassist slots.
1995 - Having gone through several trials and member changes, the band decides in December to take a two-month hiatus. When they reform, the name is changed to "Gnashing of Teeth" and the group starts writing newer, heavier songs.
1996 - In the spring Marc Garman is introduced to the band by a friend, shortly thereafter joins as guitarist.
1998 - in January, After going through two different bass players, Marc decides to fill the slot and Ryan Duke joins as guitarist. At the end of the year, after having a huge impact on the music, Ryan decides to leave the band for personal reasons.
1999 - Just as G.O.T. finishes production on their first full-length album, the original vocalist decides to leave the band. Ryan Duke is asked to rejoin the band as vocalist and accepts. It is soon decided that the album would be rerecorded with Ryan, adding many newer, better songs.
2000 - Gnashing of Teeth releases their self-titled CD on February 20. In May, after two years as a four-piece band, Ryan Lynd joins the band to fill the second guitar slot.
2001 - G.O.T. spends a year playing shows regularly and successfully. Ryan Duke once again leaves the band, and the search is on for a new vocalist. After many months of contacts and auditions, G.O.T. chooses Dan Michelson as their new vocalist in October.
2002 - A new era of Gnashing of Teeth has begun. The band is currently working on new music, taking the aggressiveness, songwriting and musicianship that is already G.O.T. to a much higher level. The future looks bright.......
