Glory Nights

The Band. We are Glory Nights from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Our story is similar to that of most bands' in that we all played in previous groups before coming together, some from different cities, to focus on this project. A few line-up changes have taken place, but the end result is a unit that shares the same aspirations, determination and integrity to accomplish our goals. We are band-mates, business partners and above all friends who have chosen music as a way of life, and couldn't be happier in doing so.

The Music. Our music is first and foremost about melody. We all agree that nothing moves a person as much as a great melody, and that is what we think about when writing. The vocals have excellent dynamics, range and character, from soaring, powerful highs to gentle, breathy lows, falsetto, and so on. Our arrangements are somewhat simple, yet very effective, powerful, and dynamic. We utilise an array of guitar tones, delay lines, and solid, hard hitting drums and bass to fill out a sound that is melodic, yet with enough edge not to become pop, somewhere in the vein of Jimmy Eat World meets Taking Back Sunday meets Underoath. In February of 2005 after only six months of becoming a band we released our first EP entitled "We're All the Same Down Here", with producer and friend Travis Saunders. The Ep has done exceptionally well on the online store Smartpunk, and along with a couple newer unreleased tracks, has earned us play counts in the hundreds of thousands on sites such as Purevolume and Myspace.

Touring. Our touring schedules have been limited to only Canada to date, but we have been able to play some of the best shows to come to the country. Last year we were able to win a slot on the Ernie Ball stage at Vancouver stop of Warped Tour. Following that we toured Western Canada, with the last leg supporting bands Bleed the Dream and Greeley Estates. This year we have so far hit the road for six weeks, again hitting mostly Western Canada and coming up this fall we will be playing the Harvestmoon Festival in Edmonton, Alberta with headliners Blindside, Copeland, MXPX. Following that we will be supporting Greeley Estates up the west coast of the States and across Canada. In the meantime we have hosted and played shows in our hometown for acts such as Underoath, Anberlin, Halifax, My American Heart, Bleed the Dream, and more.

The Future. Ultimately we want to become a full-time professional touring band. We are completely confident that we can deliver great music and albums that will easily stand up to the bands that are successful today. We are currently writing and demo-ing material for our debut full length album and booking for as much touring as possible.
