Formed in the late 1995. as a four piece band, Forlorn Legacy didn't waste much time and recorded their first demo "Proem" in 1996. The music on this demo was mostly experimental and represented band's attempt to find their own place on the music scene.
Not satisfied with the mixture of styles presented on their virgin effort, band opted for slightly changed approach to songwriting and came up with the second demo. "Birth" was more defined, both music and lyrics wise, and represented a fine balance between melody and rhythm with strong death-metal vocals from their new singer.
After 5 years with their new singer, Forlorn Legacy has changed a drummer. Forlorn Legacy has become known for their amazing live performances and they are always a number one choice of any promoters putting up a death metal concert. There was hardly a death metal tour going through Croatia without Forlorn Legacy getting a support role, most notably opening for bands like Cannibal Corpse and Immolation. With numerous positive responses from both journalists and fans worldwide, Forlorn Legacy were ready to take their career on another level.First they recorded a stunning new promo cd "Omega" on which they showcase their ever improving musicianship and songwriting, recognizable guitar parts and some fresh ideas in vocal department. Then they secured a management deal with Croatian metal veteran whose over a decade long experience in the music business combined with the band's talent and determination was destined to produce excellent results.Forlorn Legacy recorded their fourth demo cd "Dead Man`s Fear" in 2002.,wich was just a logical step forward in their musical development.
With this great demo they just confirmed their well prised place in Croatian musical scene. The band gained far greater support then ever expected, and proved the worth of their unique style world-wide.At the moment the band is in the studio preparing music for their first album, which is the result of joined forces of Bobo Markulincic and the band. The production and mixing will be done by Igor Malecic , whose talent is hard not to mention, so you can expect great sound and production on this upcoming album. FL where lucky to record and to do all the mixing in "Gama" studio ("Gama" studio is well-equipped and very known studio in Europe especially concerning the movie production milieu).
During the recording of their debue album FL played as supporting band for Kreator and Destruction tour in Croatia. In the middle of recording, FL changed their singer. No one expected such a radical change, having in mind that almost all vocal track were allready recorded. New and fresh-blood singer joined the band. Darko Etinger`s vocals just kicked in nice, into the band-sound, and picked up the whole quality and sensation of the album.
Soon came the supporting concert for Morbid Angel, but due to the lack of time and stage-space, FL had no choice then to cancel their opening gig...
At the time being, FL is promoting "Paths Of Insanity" through all big cities in Croatia and neighbour countries.
Now when the album is out, FL are monitoring reviews from music magazines, zines, web-zines (check out the reviews link) and working on new songs and side projects.
