Ellie Goulding talks about her new video "Anything Could Happen"
Ellie Goulding promotes her second single "I Know You Care" released on October 8, 2012, but also her new video for "Anything Could Happen," from her most recent album, the second one in her career, "Halcyon."
"I'm hoping it will make people go out and propose to their girlfriend and do that holiday they never ended up doing," she said about her new pop tune. "I hope it will provoke positivity as opposed to making people really sad."
Goulding told MTV News that her new clip "Anything Could Happen" "..is about myself and I suppose ... [my] love interest, you might say, [or] soul mate and we end up having an accident." Her childhood was an important period and she puts some details in the video about a friendship that made her compose these lyrics.
"It's a song of realization, because at the end I say, 'I'm the girl that can give you everything you need, but actually I don't need you necessarily,'" she explained. "It's just about someone finding freedom in some capacity."
The singer said about her new disc "Halcyon" that is a pop record and electric. "I think it's a different sound. It is kind of a bit more tribal, a bit more anthemic."
'Anything Could Happen' is the debut single from Ellie's new album 'Halcyon' out now.
