A debut from a Detroit underground mob: Dezert Eez
These guys recently crawled from down under with this song called 'Riot Gear', and I can tell you this: they're schooled and geared up with some wild metaphors, deep Bible references, unique portrayals of life, and staggering beats. It's a revolution, and like most revolutions, many won't understand it. It's a debut, and like most debuts, people will say meh and listen to it months later, and prove their first impression wrong.
Lines like:
'Trapped deep behind enemy lines Here to revolutionize, changin' the course of time Tilt the earth revolving on it's axis You actin' like Obama really care But only momma care that I grab yo riot gear Eyes above the madness round here Praise the family's right, dedicated to change No more roaming the streets, sex, drugs, and violence The world feeling the heat, the truth can't be silenced'
and lines like:
'Black blood leaking like broken capillaries Rappers not speaking the people's vocabulary'
prove that this is not your ordinary rap: no bitches, hoes, mommas, lil mommas, funky mommas, turnt mommas, young'ns and other crap like that. This is straight heart pacing music, and it's meant to get your ass off that couch! If you feel nothing after playing this song, then there's no riot in your. May you rest in peace!
