Demi Lovato will host and perform at MTV's New Year's Eve Special

Demi Lovato will host and perform at MTV's New Year's Eve SpecialWhilst Justin Bieber does his best to keep up with holiday as he celebrated this weekend "Christmas in Washington" with President Barack Obama, his 19-year-old girlfriend, Selena Gomez is also getting her role. Along with and her BFF, singer Demi Lovato she's been taped for the MTV's "New Year's Eve Special", on December 31st.

MTV said Monday that both singer are due to perform, along with singer Jason Derulo and rappers J. Cole and Mac Miller. Demi will not only perform at the event, but will also host it along with the "Teen Wolf" star, Tyler Posey. Actresses Vanessa Marano and Katie LeClerc will also make a cameo during the event.

The special show will air from MTV's Times Square studios at 11 PM. Fans can bid to be part of the audience. Proceeds will go to FWD, to help with the crisis in East Africa.

Meanwhile, Bieber won't be far away from Selena, as he is set to perform also in the Big Apple, in Times Square for Dick Clark's "New Year's Rockin Eve" special along with big artists such as Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Pitbull, Nicki Minaj and more.

The "Unbroken" songstress took the stage at the Z100's Jingle Ball on December 9th at the Madison Sqaure Garden, where she performed along with Kelly Clarkson the classic holiday track "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". Watch their performance below:
