Metallica, Iron Maiden joins Deep Purple for the Tribute albumLegendary rock bands Metallica and Iron Maiden joins Deep Purple for their upcoming tribute album Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head. The Flaming Lips, Carlos Santana and Chickenfoot will also appear on the album.

In honor of Deep Purple's Jon Lord, who passed away a month ago from pancreatic cancer at the age of 71, an all-star roster of musicians have signed up to pay tribute to the heavy metal pioneers' most famous record. Both Deep Purple's obvious spiritual descendants in the metal world and bands who branched further from their brand of blues-informed hard rock have jumped on the Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head LP, which seeks to recreate Deep Purple's 1972 classic in its entirety.

Both Carlos Santana and the Flaming Lips will each get to do their own cover of the hit. The full track list for Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head follows:
