Dawn Richard announces a new album for this year and a new release date for the upcoming full-length debut GoldenHeart. The album is the first one in a trilogy with "BlackHeart" and "RedemptionHeart."

“The last six years have been a battle for people to understand and conform me into what they really want me to be and I’ve kind of had to protect that throughout this whole journey. It’s kind of the story of me protecting this golden heart, which really kind of symbolizes my own heart and my passion for this music thing and really who I am,” Dawn said.

The first single from the record "GoldenHeart" is "86" that debuted in September. She collaborated with Altavoz Distribution for this project.

The album was set to appear on October 16, but has been delayed until January 15, 2013.

"It’s a movement, we are starting here," the singer said. "After all our hard work, we finally are expanding our art into stores. We wanted to make GoldenHeart available to all [Hearts], not just digitally. The project is too amazing to be limited to one portal of access. It’s time to get excited. This is a big deal for us!"
