I headed out in the morning, I needed some time to be alone 
To clear my head and figure out where I'd been going wrong 
I sat down by the water's edge and I felt a kind of peace 
I prayed that I might understand these ways you speak to me 

And the sun rose in the distance and the moon set at my back 
The tide rolled in and my barefeet were buried in the sand 

And there's no other explanation that my heart will believe 
Except that there is a living God making days like these 

I drove as far as I could get away from the city lights 
I needed time to reconnect to the source of my strength and life 
I have let this world just drag me down, I've let it pull me in 
I prayed Lord forgive me, and please show me Your face again 

And fog lifted over the mountains, the moon rose into the night 
And every star that God has made was dancing in His sky 

And there's no explanation that my heart will accept 
My faith is strengthened every time I see a day like this 

You don't have to look too far to see the answered prayer 
Just take a walk in the country, they're everywhere, 
He's everywhere 
A breeze blows through the evergreens 
Like a thought drifts through my dreams 
A flower blooms leading the way to the first day of spring 

And there's no other explanation that my heart will believe 
Except that there is a living God making days like these
