Cyndi Lauper fails singing the National Anthem at U.S. Open
After Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper was the second singer to fail singing correct the National Anthem when she took it to U.S. Open semi-finals on Saturday night.
Cyndi Lauper sang 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Saturday's U.S. Open semi-finals just before the women's match between Serena Williams and <B>Caroline Wozniacki, in which Williams won.
Wearing a short dress with the Statue of Liberty pictured and a pair of black leather thigh boots Lauper took the stage after a moment of silence for the victims of 9/11 and instead of singing "O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming", she sang "O'er the ramparts, we watched as our flag was still streaming." just as Aguilera did. The audience booed at her but then cheered and clapped as she finished the song on a high note.
