Grab Cat Power's latest single Cherokee for free
Only two songs off Cat Power's upcoming album SUN have emerged online, and recently the singer announced she's giving the "Cherokee" track for free download on the official website . You can as well download a remix by Nicolas Jaar by visiting Catpowermusic.com.
Sun is singer-songwriter's first album in six years and follows the 2008 covers album Jukebox and 2006's The Greatest and will be out in the UK on September 10 and on September 3rd on Matador. The self-produced piano rock of these two songs, mixed by French electro-house vet Philippe Zdar, pulls no punches. Take a listen below and download the song if you like it.

The LP was recorded by Cat Power, real name Chan Marshall, in various locations including a studio she built in Malibu. Speaking about the record, she told The Stool Pigeon that the four-year break between her last release 'Jukebox' was due to entering into an intense personal relationship. She said: "I entered a long relationship which I really wanted to be successful. You know that thing we're all raised to want: a beautiful life with children – that family thing that is tangible?"
