Before Tomorrow - Part One lyrics
rate meIt is a mirage
And we are indeed wasting our time
The best thing for us to do
Is to eat as much as we can
Drink as much as we can
Love as much as we can
Live as merry as possible
For tomorrow we die
But if He did rise
Then our life is always getting better
Cause every day is a day closer of being with Him
For tomorrow we live
Tomorrow we live is a story of hope
Paul said that if Jesus is still dead
His palms are somewhere on this planet
Then if anybody is wasting his time , it is Christians
He said that my suggestion to you it would be
If Jesus is dead and never rose
Go out and try parties
Try to have fun as much as you can
Eat, drink be merry
For tomorrow we die
It can be over
So the logical thing to do is a life that has no future
Try to suck all the joy you can right now
Because that’s all that it is to it
Your little moments are the sum of you existence
And it’s sad cause moments are just moments
And once the moments have passed
The moments are past
I give my all
I give my all for these things
I got
I live beyond myself
I live beyond myself
Cause something beyond me is probably new to me
And this idea God is establishing tomorrow
Will take away all the pains up today
I felt very unsafe, regularly
Living with gun shots
You just never felt safe
In this time I always had sadness when it came to intellectual things
So school was very easy to me
I was invited to join this program
Called St Petersburg Collegial High school
I got to start college early
But behind closed doors
I was struggling with finding my identity as a man
What it meant to be successful
What it meant to be strong
All those things that were defined by people who were around me
And what I saw on TV left me in a very desperate dark place
It was in that desperation, that darkness
That I’m about to get kicked off this program
And I met a gentleman
Who said he was a Christian
And I remember that time being struck by that
Cause Christian is not a phrase that I would ever refer to myself without qualifications
So I’m a Christian, but I will fight you
I’m a Christian
But don’t try me
But he said it and laughed at that
He was unashamed
And that struck me
The same gentleman I saw probably outside eating lunch
And he had a CD on the table
And the CD had a man on its cover with a bandana on its face
I remember t was called Bloody Streets
So I thought it wasn’t Christian
I confronted him about it
And I said
Hey man you can’t be a Christian
Why are you listening to Little Wayne?
He said this is Christian
I said I don’t know much about God
But I know He ain’t cool with that
The brother looked like me
So he said you check this out
And you judge
So I took the CD home and loved it
It had 8 songs on it
The 8th song was a gospel presentation
I’ve been walking with Lord ever since got that CD
Of the most profound effects that Christianity has had on me
Is it made me a fighter
I see Jesus as a fighter
Boxing is the sport of the oppressive
Always gives opportunities for champions to get born out of the darkest scenarios
You see people travelling all over to watch this fight
Because it speaks to humanity
Everybody knows what a fight is
If you’re living
You are fighting
I shaped a lot musically from what I do ,signs ad boxing
Listen to my music
It’s very climatic and very champion like
So imagine a fighter entering the ring
And even how I perform on the stage
You can see the effects boxing has had on me
A lot of artists told me it looks like I’m fighting on stage
The way that I stand
It’s something in the way that I stand that shows readiness and willingness
You know what you’re doing
You know where your feet should go
You know your body
And you’re there to win
They were saying
We will fight
We will stand
We are prepared
God has us
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win
