Audrey Rose and Troy Ave release a super r n b song over a 90s rendition: That Love
Here's a rendition of that Grandmaster Flash song, "The Message". P.Diddy and Mass later sung "Hold Me Down" over the same soundtrack. Audrey and Troy Ave do something else to the vibe, so it doesn't really take you to the 90s (which is good): it reminds us of the 90s while remaining in the present time. How? They added that "hey hey hey hey hey hey hey" sample, some buzzing like the one heard in the Gta San Andreas soundtrack (the buzz whistle thingy), and an R&B beat that immediately takes over the original Grandmaster Flash beat. They've played a little with it, you'll see, but the result is fantastic.
An R&B song with a whole lotta boy/girl tension, featuring her side and his side of the story (we love that, don't we?), without any bitches, hoes, strip clubs and unnecessary drug mentions. All in all, a great song, melody-wise and message-wise!
Buy the song over at iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and whatnot. Audrey also announced an EP, so we're ghastly excited about it. Stay tuned!
