Artimus Pyledriver

Artimus Pyledriver is a Southern sludge metal band from Atlanta, Georgia.

History Artimus Pyledriver was formed in 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia by singer Dave Slocum and guitarist Jimmy Hall. By 2003, the current line-up was in place. They toured with local bands such as Mastodon and Stuck Mojo, and embarked on national tours with Hank Williams III and Nashville Pussy. After attracting the attention of former Coal Chamber/current DevilDriver vocalist Dez Fafara, a fan of the band, they were signed by DRT Entertainment, and released their self-titled debut in 2006http://wm10.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll. The bands name is a reference to Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle.
