Alecia Elliott

Don't write Alecia Elliott off as just another teen performer, because this 19-year-old country artist has more going for her than her cool fashion sense. Alecia's powerful voice and song-writing abilities place her in the category of talented teen vocalists. Her pop-flavored, country sound is delivered with a touch of soul on her debut album, I'm Diggin' It.

This Alabama native began her musical career at the early age of nine. After listening to a tape sent in by Alecia, Lorrie Morgan invited her to perform a concert duet. By the time she was 13, the young entertainer had already performed at a variety of music festivals and concert venues across America, including the White House Lawn. In 1998 Alecia signed a contract with MCA Nashville and began work on her first album.

Alecia's debut album was recorded in Nashville at the Sound Emporium and completed in May 1999 under the guidance of Tony Brown and Jeff Teague. Of the eleven songs on the album, Alecia's writing potential is evident on the beautiful ballad "I'm Waiting For You" and the catchy "You Wanna What?" Her first single and title track, "I'm Diggin' It," has proven successful on CMT's Request Line and Billboard's Top Country Singles Sales Chart.

Of all the new talent on the teen music scene, Alecia Elliott is one rising star to watch!
